The UVEX fp3-series helmets are built for comfort. This, the 3.0, fits like a custom cap, with padding that's minimal, and yet plush, with channels molded into the padding to increase airflow. To keep your head as cool as possible, there are 22 big vents in the shell. An internal frame adds strength and impact resistance, similar to what's found on helmets like the Giro Ionos and the Specialized S-Works, and modeled after rollcage's found in off-road vehicles.
UVEX fp3.0 has a highly adjustable retention system. The IAS (Individual Adjusting System) uses a ratcheting dial to snug up the horizontal adjustment-not so ground-breaking in itself, but the dial is large and very easy to turn. Vertical adjustment on the fp3's is probably the most effective of any helmet we've seen; by anchoring the retention basket to points on the side of the helmet, rather than one point in the back, the adjustment is more effective, and you can easily see, and feel, the difference when you move it.
